Hello. If find my self coming back into the kind of womb like space of DeviantArt. It's always been here, the forum is the same way it was 12 years ago when I started out. Working right now on an illustrated book called " Navigator " which is the first Star Ranger production, but

which currently is quite unformed and in development.

These are some charts from the book, som sketches inspired by a kind of renaissance like

occult manuscript or description of plant like consciousness and energy coming off trees.

I humor my self mostly, but hold true to the message of this book. Which is the development

of human consciousness, and free relationship to technology. A new Ontology which in the

same fashion as the renaissance saw the emergence of newtonian science, will see a new understanding of nature and paranormal phenomenon.

Im heavily inspired by Prometheanism by Jason Reza Jorjani, which also sees the importance of the development of a new integral consciousness, to expand the human project, to revisit Heidegger and his critique technology, to heal the human soul and from the rigid capitalisation on identity and the fragmentation of the self in consumer society. Im really talking about my self here. I need to heal my own self through an artistic coming together

of both my own thinking and art. to realise the strange weirdness which is the curse which is my art. to become whole.

I like the idea of a leather bound sketchbook which beholds charts and drawings which isn't meant to be bought and sold. the few things which isn't for sale still. Late night musings on

the meaning on a poem. Thoughts on the depths of the psyche and the Self. A short story about my shadow. Instructions for how to develop MK Ultra like psychic powers and astral projection. charts which describes exercises for becoming telepathic to escape Facebook and google censorship. To travle to the stars, to finish the modernist project of conquering the solar system.

Im Half joking, but this is the kind of stuff which excites me and makes me laugh, as well as wonder. Better to really get obsessed with my work, to have fun with it and feel like I do something honest for once.

Currently working on an illustrated book Anthology. Book One “ Navigator “

Which will be a collection of Art, Poetry, Illustrations, writing and short stories relating to the concept of Cyber Renaissance. The Renaissance, with its fondness for ancient greece and discourse on philosophy. Traditionally painted portraits of a noble and beautiful red headed woman, with golden and dark earth tones and the pencil drawings and schematics of an inventor. Mapping coastlines and new continents. A scientific, new understanding of the world. Lingering occult knowledge in the manuscript of an alchemist.

These themes are perfect for the Star Ranger book NAVIGATOR, which aim is to set the stage and bring forth a coherent theme. To dialogue and contrast the medium of the traditionally drafted pencil sketch from the leather bound book, with the new and digital. The coming together of opposite aesthetics in the artwork, and the theme cyber and renaissance, allows for a thoughtful art direction and unity to the ideas which will be vital to the book, which is : Humanism, technology, nature and spirituality.

The concept of navigation relates to exploring these themes, with a new look.

The Aesthetic of nautical and celestial maps and charts are significant to visualising new terrain, new lines of flight and conversations to be had about meaning, consciousness and ontology.

The Sextant is a navigational device which is held up towards the horizon, using the celestial objects in the night sky to measure the distances at sea. This tool is emblematic of the spirit which the artist wants to invoke. To know your position and the landscape ahead, to navigate the unknown with your eye fixed on a point of transcendence above the horizon line. Like Ulysses, from Alfred Tennyson poem, who desire is to “ Follow Knowledge like a sinking star, beyond the utmost bound of human thought “.

The Dual meaning of the Sextant or “Sexton”, is that it refers to a part of a clergy who looks after the graveyard. Someone who grants safe passage to the other side and attends to the dead. This dual icon is again seeks the dialogue of opposites, to contrast the vital Faustian spirit of the Renaissance, with the dead grey spirit of a technological dystopia. Haunted spaces, derelict scientific outposts and ghostly industrial installations. Deterritorialized cities and buildings, overgrown by nature. The abandoned modernist project, and whispers of conspiracy theories, about occult rituals in the halls of power. Ruins of a utopian vision, of prometheus who stole fire from the gods.

This technological skepticism, and interest in new ontologies and ways of seeing is typical of

continental philosophers and modernist thinkers which have either been obscured by history or leftIn old dusty books. The Aim of the book is to breathe new life into old ideas and creating a dialogue visually and figuratively on concepts such as ; a free relationship to technology and spiritual health to humanity
